Monday 6th June Day 16
We left at 550 this morning, perfect temperature for walking but a bit dark! The sun came up and it was beautiful!

20km today and it felt harder than yesterday probably because quite a lot of it was on roads. As we came into Castrojeriz we found the Convento de San Anton. A beautiful ruined convent where we had breakfast in front of this.

There was an old man living there, it must have been a really basic life. He was selling some things and I bought this to remember the moment and the Camino. I love it!

Then on to Castrojeriz which it turns out is not only closed on Monday but we discovered later that only grandparents live there. Everyone else has moved away, it’s a big village so seemed very sad.

Arrived at out hostel which is very nice and discovered that dinner was going to be Korean. I can’t tell you excited we were and it was delicious!
We met a lovely Irish lady called Melissa earlier on, I hope we catch up with her over the walk. At the hostel we met Alan from Philadelphia. We tried hard but have to admit he is not someone we would chose to spend time with. Probably a first for the Camino. I remembered to ‘be more Sam’ and talked to him for quite a while. Robin made an excuse and left!
