I am back in Cirencester and today we had a road trip to the Cotswolds Wildlife Park. Slightly odd as it is a very small class and a few people didnt turn up so it was 4 of us and the lecturer - we could have taken a car rather than a minibus! I havent been before and did enjoy the day. They do a lot of conservation work - global breeding programmes for many animals plus they have the storks that are producing he young for the Knepp Estate stork recovery programme! But they had quite a few big animals, lions, rhinoceros, giraffes etc - I couldnt help but think that the enclosures were very small for such big beasts. It was a very cold day so we spent a lot of time looking at snakes and bats - in the lovely warm reptile house!!
