Fruit and Regen

Off to Fruit Focus - an agricultural show in Kent just for fruit growers. Lots to see and some interesting innovations. I also learnt a lot. I understand the concept of beneficial insects for pest control - but hadnt really thought it through. Of course you need a machine to spray the insects where you want them to go! And here is a fully electric insect applicator - the insects are in the white box in the middle which is kept at a low temperature so they are a bit dormant - then they get sprayed through a nozzle - no insects get hurt apparently! I stayed in Kent and in the evening went to a regen ag farmers meeting. I have been tasked with creating a concept document for a Rural Hub website for East Kent and wanted to get a feel for what might be interesting to this group of farmers. Really interesting meeting - I do miss the North East Cotswolds Farmer Cluster though - they are very organised and think BIG!
