Great tit/Blue tit

More birds on the birdfeeder today. I thought it was more blue tits but on closer inspection they are great tits. Actually before today I wouldnt have been able to tell the difference - but now I can! Blue tits are smaller and have a lovely blue cap on their heads. Great tits are bigger (difficult to tell if they are not next to each other!) they also have a very dark strip all the way down their breasts. I also saw a wren in the hedge - not sure that he made it to the bird feeder though.

There was a small break in the rain today (hailstones the size of golf balls at one point!) and I made a dash to Waterland (https://ukwatersports.co.uk/) Strangely I was not alone - about 6 other people out swimming - several of them wearing swim suits and no wet suits brrrrrrr. My problem is cold feet - I looked it up afterwards and apparently neoprene socks for open water swimming is a thing - I might buy some.

Great to back in the lecture hall today with actual people.
