St Jean Pied de Porte

set off from Biarritz by train. At the next stop Bayonne it was easy to tell who the pilgrims were - the whole train!! Arrived at St Jean Pied de Porte in the blazing midday sun. Quickly retired to the shade and ordered lunch, they had sweetbreads which I had to have and they were delicious!

Then off to the pilgrims office to get our first stamp and done advice. She said it’s pretty busy and she recommended that we book ahead which is disappointing, we shall see as we walk how much it is really needed. Off to our Gite for tonight, lovely private room do we did all our washing and waited for it to get cooler.
