Sunday 12th June 2022 Day 22

Up and out by 550 today, it promises to be another scorcher! Not much to say about the walk to Leon, 18km and I carried the backpack the whole way, hurrah!! It was hot so we were pleased to see Leon in the distance as we crossed this motorway. It’s Sunday so no traffic to be seen!

We treated ourselves to 2 nights at the NH hotel in the centre of Leon as we are staying an extra day. Fancy room with a lovely coffee machine and air conditioning!! We checked the price of laundry here and then headed for the launderette!!

A whole load washed and dried for the price of two pairs of pants at the hotel.

Sock art! Then we had a look around the city. It is beautiful but by now really hot so we kept to the shadows!

First place to go was the cathedral. It’s impossible to do it justice unless photos. The stained glass is amazing and somehow it seemed more spiritual and less gaudy than a lot of places we have seen. Then off to find dinner. They serve free tapas with drinks here which is a bit disconcerting. We found a lovely place for a drink then had dinner, mine was great but Robin wasnt happy with his. Fish and chips turned out to be fried octopus and crisps!! Hoping for better tomorrow.
