Mass

We went to mass in Triacastela at 6pm. Our first mass of the pilgrimidge. We turned up 10 minutes early and there were a few people there already. But we were definitely on Spanish time. At about 615 when the church was standing room only the service finally started. It wax strange bring part of something that you don’t understand, partly because of language and partly because we don’t know the Roman Catholic rituals. We just followed everyone else! What I did understand was that it was a prayer for our walk to Santiago and to ask God to look after us. It was raining when we finished so we ran to the only place in town that seemed to serve food.

Slightly sad that chorizo, egg and chips wax a highlight of my culinary time in Foain, but it was great!!
