Well that didn’t work out well! We moved the front seats forward in the van to get more space not realising that they were keeping the bed together. About 430am a slat fell out and there was a big hole!! no sleep after that!! So we got up early to see the sunrise over the beach, it was beautiful and lovely to be there on our own. Later we got on the boat (at 9am) which took us up the coast to Arawow Bay. We have about 10km to walk through the national park to get to the pick up point. The paths were good but it was much steeper than I was expecting. Definitely a good work! Amazing to see tree ferns in their natural habitat. The beaches were stunning and the sea was clear. We continued with our bird spotting

The fantail

The waka

It was a wonderful day and we finished with a bbq back at the site! I rearranged the van so hoping the bed doesn’t collapse tonight!!
