Sunday 21st August 2022

On Friday we drove up to Cumbria - its a very long way and the traffic was terrible - not helped by the rail strikes. I missed Andrews ordination in July because I had Covid so it was great to see him. Andrew left Teradata about the same time as me and he has worked very hard in the last few years - working towards a Masters, setting up a business and getting ordained after a few set backs. We spent the weekend going round the churches that he has responsibility for - they were all lovely. Typically in very small Cumbrian villages with a loyal but aging congregation. We also went to his church service on Sunday - he still gets mixed up sometimes with the words - so used to being the parishioner not the Reverend!! We also met up with Andrews family and friends - a wonderful set of people that we have known or many years now - great to see them all doing so well. His mum is slowing down - old age is catching up with her, but considering that she has had a stroke and a heart attack, she is doing very well!! Wonderful weekend - we will be back as soon as we can!

And he showed us the wonders of Truffle Marmite - if you haven't tried it then you must. I bought two pots when I got home but Robin is saving them for best (?). I guess they will never go off so thats OK.
