Artichokes!

Yesterday Robin went over to Landport community garden to look at how the Mens shed can move and rebuild their compost bins. While he was there he was offered some artichokes, they grow them but apparently noone wants to eat them. So today we gave it a go. Stemed them first an ate the leaves with butter and then fried the hearts with mint, lemon and butter. They tasted really good but its quite a lot of effort for what is effectively a snack! We agreed that we would have them again - but only if he got bigger ones.

In the evening we went along to the Depot cinema to watch Wilding. Its a new film just out about what they have done at Knepp estate. We were quite critical of the film afterwards, but I think it maybe that we know Knepp very well and basically thought that we wouldnt tell their story in the way that they have! It is a beautiful film though and I would recommend seeing it - but we think they could have done better!.
