Back to work!

Seed harvesting again today - up near Hook Norton. It is a huge field that has been left for 25 years, they haven't added anything to it, they just take the hay off it every year and pull the ragwort out by hand. Great to see what nature can do when left (nearly) to its own devices.

We collected a huge amount of seed, a very productive day.

The farmer came round to see us a couple of times, together with his wife and 3 young children. They were very interested and engaged in what we were doing and I had the children helping me out with sorting out the seeds! They did a great job although I think they were most interested in the grasshoppers and earwigs that kept crawling out!

It threatened to rain a few times but we managed to bag it and cover it when needed so all Ok - and of course the sun came out beautifully at the end of the day!
