In 2005 6 beavers were released in the Cotswold Water Park - apparently they are doing really well - I didnt see them today on my walk but I did find a sign!

I walked around the park to see what birds I could find - I even got out the binoculars - I am practicing for tomorrows lecture where we are bird spotting.

I saw a lot of swans, ducks and coots as you would expect. I also saw cormorants and greater crested grebes. There were a lot of other birds around but what I learnt is that I am going to have to get better at recognising bird song! They are so difficult to see.

Tonight I listened to the ZSL first online youtube presentation - it was on rewilding and really interesting - basically the answer is it depends! Here is the link - well worth listening to - a few technical issues but they handled them well. There is another one next month and I will make sure I listen to it.
