Broadband has arrived at the cottage – hallelujah!! I did have to go over to the university this morning at 830 and sit outside to do the first online call - it was a bit chilly – but after that I was back at the cottage and happy!
We covered two modules today – another two tomorrow – starting to realise how much time this is going to take! This afternoons course was on taxonomy (binomial nomenclature and the classification of species)– really important in identifying species and therefore being sure that our conservation plans are targeted in the right place.
I was looking up magpie later in the day (re the white magpie that I saw last week at Waterworld) and found that Wikipedia has the scientific classification that we had just learned about and I understood it – amazing - I was so pleased!
