I cant believe it is April already - but at last the camellia is flowering - it always seems to be quite late for us. It is beautiful.

I spent today working on a couple of university assignments. The first one is a soil health assessment, I need to pick two different places to assess. In the end I think I will do the field at Steadings and my garden at Steadings - it should show a very different soil texture - lets see. If you want to know anything about the soil in your area then look up this site UK Soil Observatory . Really good information there, I tried some of the apps but this site was the best.

I also watched bird for beginners part 2 Birds for Beginners – Part 2 - YouTube still really amazed by all the information - I went out afterwards to try and identify bird songs - but where we are the robins, blue tits and pigeons drown out everything else! Although I did hear a blackbird, wren and great tit as well - feeling very pleased with myself anyway. I downloaded the BirdNET app a few days ago so trying that out - it seems pretty good - will let you know!
