Birthday!

Happy birthday to me and Elliott! I was given some lovely presents and cards today. I am especially pleased with the bath bomb that Libby chose for me! It was an interesting day - it started off well with a good day at work and lots of things getting sorted out. Then the snow started which I didnt really think very much of but turned into a nightmare. It seems the council had underestimated the snow and most roads in Sussex were not gritted enough. So chaos ensued with cars abandoned, roads closed and our family in the thick of it!

Chris was going to come over from work for dinner tonight - but he had to turn back - it took him several hours to get back. But worse than that Tom (who picks up Libby and Freya) was stuck! Laura managed to get Libby but Freya was stuck at nursery in Brighton! After a few phone calls one of Lauras friends picked Freya up from nursery and Laura managed to get het back to Hassocks by train. In the mean time Tom eventually turned up at our house with my present(!) and then set off again for home (which took him over an hour for a 25 minute journey). Overall it was a stressful day! Anyway we decided to go to the pub for dinner - there were a suprising number of people there with some organising hotel rooms to stay overnight as they couldnt get home. The kitchen was closed - as the cook came from Brighton and couldnt get to work! But we were allowed to get fish and chips from round the corner and eat them in the pub - which was very satisfactory!
