Friday 9th June 2023

This morning we packed up the tent again and set off for Bolton Abbey. The campsite is about 10 minutes walk from the Priory ruins. This campsite is very different from the last two, it’s busy and later in the day is almost full. We are pretty good at getting the tent up quickly so we do that and then walk down to the ruins. The priory was built in the 12th century and then fell into disrepair during the dissolution of the monasteries. We decided not to go across the stepping stones over the river and leave that for tomorrow!! Back to the campsite to read our books in the sun and have a BBQ!!
