Bonfire Fancy Dress!

The sun was out this morning so I went over to Pells pool for a swim - it was beautiful - for 5 minutes I was the only one in the pool. 14 degrees C so a bit chilly and I wish I had brought my gloves! Lasted nearly 20 minutes though so not bad. Then I went over to Brighton to look after Freya while Laura took Libby to an art class. Freya was as smiley as usual and we had a great time - and Libby made an amazing hedgehog!! In the evening we had a quick drink with the neighbours (Morris Road Friday evening drinks!) then over to the Town Hall to experience the Bonfire Fancy Dress competition. It really was amazing, each bonfire society competes for a variety of classes. All costumes have to be handmade - nothing shop bought! We are Cliffe and our first pioneer is Vikings (dont ask I dont know why they are called pioneers!) so the magnificent Viking in the middle picture was onne of ours (and there were 6 of them!). We discovered afterwards that they even make the helmets themselves - absolutely fantastic! Cliffe won of course!!
