We got to Catania and Charlotte called straight away to say that Bryan had died overnight. Although I expected it to happen while we were away it was still a shock and brought me to tears in the train station. And at various times during the day. Charlotte Elliott and James have been there this week and luckily Tom got there yesterday evening to see him as he went down hill very quickly at the end. Pancreatic cancer. He was the same age as me and we married very young, had two wonderful children but it didn’t work out for us. I wrote to him before I left on holiday to say how proud I was of our children and that he would always be in our hearts. Nothing more to say today.
