Busy Day

Busy day today! In the morning I drove over to Kent to attend the Marks and Spencers fruit grower conference at NAIB. It was focused on water and was really interesting - we had a tour of the NIAB water research area which was focused on precision irrigation of strawberries - interesting but you wonder who can afford all the kit! Then in the afternoon we went to a farm nearby for a farm walk - the farmer has lived there for over 30 years an they have done an amazing job. She showed us the wildflower meadows and the cows that they are using for mob grazing. Lots of questions from the farmers being shown round. I had to leave there at 7 to get over to Guildford by 830 for a bat survey at the old semenary - the picture above shows my position (I got the church part of it) - luckily there was someone nearby as it was pretty spooky, but no bats in the belfry! Then home for 00:45 - and now to sleep!
