Caterpillars

We are still in training for our Surrey Three Peaks walk - now looking like September rather than June! Today we went for a 20km walk over to Crowthorne. I spent a lot of the time trying to identify plants practicing what I had learnt over the last few weeks. I didn't do too badly but I am sure it is something that I will need to do continuously or I will forget them!

Robin spotted these very distinctive caterpillars. I tend to use Google Lens as my first identifying app on the phone. It is not always correct but if something is obvious like this then it works really well. I do also then crosscheck the answer with other sites just to be sure! These will turn into Peacock butterflies.
