Chris and Ella!

Chris and Ella are travelling around New Zealand now with Ellas mum and dad - I think this picture of them is lovely so had to show you all!

Today we listened to a zoom call on insulating older buildings. It was really interesting and I learnt a lot about lime that I didnt know! He talked about condensation and humidity in houses - we have a whole set of temperature/humidity things - so we went arudn the house making sure that there was one in every room. It should be between 40% and 60% inside a house - ours are all at about 63 to 69% - actually better than I thought - I am sure that we will be playing around with them over the next few days!

Later in the day the chimney sweep came - an amazing man who is also a London fireman - sweeps chimneys in his spare time! He was really knowledgeable and we learnt lots - luckily he said that everything was in good order and he talked us through how to use the wood brning stove - we will light it tomorrow - very excited about that! He also swept the unused chimney in the main bedroom - it was obviusly blocked so we thought it best to get it done. He took out three bags of rubble and dust - he said it was minging! Luckily no dead birds and it was all dry so all good news!
