Back to Cirencester at last. My neighbours strimmed the grass a few weeks ago - they are amazing! Th garden is still full of weeds and the lawn looks terrible but it could be much worse! I notice that the pond we built was a bit low on water - then I noticed the frog! I was so happy - it really does show that if you put the smallest bit of water out wonderful things will turn up!

I am here to meet up with my tutor from uni to work through my dissertation for next year. The thing about wildlife conservation is that most things happen over summer so data collection for my dissertation needs to happen now! In fact my tutor says I am a bit late (due to the Camino which is a great excuse!).

Had a great few hours out in the farm that his family owns - I will be collecting insects in four different fields over a 12 weeks period and hopefully show the differences in diversity and abundance between different field types. We practiced today which was great - what I can say is that I am going to have millions (well maybe thousands) of insects to identify in September. Phew!!!!
