Cliffe Bonfire Society

We moved everything into the dining room (except the dishwasher - that was a step too far!). Then over to Haywards Heath as Robin has a doctors appointment - very strange, the hospital was empty, we got there 15 minutes early and he was seen straight away and out again in about 5 minutes. But we did have to fight with the parking machine for 10 minutes to get it to work - why are hospital car parks always to difficult! Anyway he needs a CT scan and hopefully that will be booked soon. When we got home Neil (of Cliffe Bonfire Society and lives on our road) reminded every one that applications to join the society close tomorrow!! We had been lazy and put it off but we were galvanized into action. I printed out the form and filled it in for Robin, but we need a proposer and seconder - Neil will propose us but we need to find a seconder and we dont know anyone else who belongs. But I do know that the Dorset (our local pub) is the home of the society and on a Sunday afternoon I was pretty sure there would be a group of them there. So off we went to the pub, got a drink and there were about 10 people there in a group. I knew some of them must belong so I went over and sweet talked one of them into seconding for me. They did try a few trick questions but I seemed to pass OK! So that has been submitted - doesnt mean we get in but at least thee form was in on time!!
