Saturday 16th March 2024

Its the market in Blois today so we got there early to take a look around - lots and lots of food produce stalls. A whole stall dedicated to asparagus and so much fresh fish! There were lots of people turning up obviously doing their weekly shop. It is sad that we dont have this sort of market in the UK - I guess they may be dying out in France as well but the one in Blois is going strong. We had the chance to have a good walk around Blois, over the other side of the bridge we found the Camino sign - so far to walk from here! We also found the posters for our Carnaval tomorrow - we have no idea what to expect - but we have been told that we are at the head - leading the way - which is a bit of a worry!! Blois is a beautiful town - really well positioned to go and see other town on the Loire - I can highly recommend it - it is beautiful! For lunch we went to a local centre for wildlife on the Loire and had a most wonderful lunch of local pates, salamis, cheese and local wines. The food and drink just kept on coming - we though it was going to be a quick buffet lunch - I guess that doesnt happen in France!! We walked back from there and stopped at a bar for a few drinks with half the coach. The only problem was that there was no beer and Robin drank the win as if it was beer - so I had to take him back to the hotel and we skipped dinner!! I sat and read and Robin snored!!
