Dorothy is home!

I stayed at mums last night and we went over to visit Dorothy. While I was there I noticed a local sycamore tree. Yesterday in our lecture on Forestry, myself and Marie were given the sycamore tree to research. I wanted to find one and photograph some of its distinguishing features. So when I was over there today I made sure that I took a good look and got the pictures I needed. Palmate leaves with 5 points and serrated edges. Pink stems to leaves. Winged seeds at 45 degrees to the horizontal. Bark that is smooth when young but gets flaky as the tree gets older. It can be confused with the Norway maple and the field maple - but these are some of the distinguishing features - now you know!

Much more importantly Dorothy was discharged from hospital - Robin and I went over to collect her. She seemed better than yesterday but still pretty weak. We borrowed a wheelchair from the corridor to take her round the hospital! We took her back home and left not long after - she needs some rest!
