Saturday 21st October 2023

I walked up to the Neville estate this morning to volunteer on Landport Bottom (chalk grassland) but it was absolutely tipping down so I decided that I didnt need to do it and went home! Took this picture of hte castle on the way back so the trip wasn't wasted! Then I kept on knitting for hours! In the afternoon I volunteered for the quarterly food bank collection - it was really well organised - I only had to go there for an hour - we had placards to tell people what we wanted and most people did as they were asked - we collected loads. I was on shift with Jim who likes dressing up so turned up as a tree - which was good but he hadnt tied up the back properly and he was only wearing red tights underneath! We tied him up to save his dignity! We went straight from there to the Neville Bonfire society parade - they are a junior society so dont march on the 5th November. Really good to see - we didnt stay for the fireworks but heard them later on!!
