One of our favourite restaurants ever is Din Tai Fung - they originated in Taiwan (when we were in Taipei we paid homage at the original restaurant!) and are famous for their Xiao long bao - soup dumplings. We have always wanted to give them a go and today was that day.
They turned out pretty well - soup in dumplings! The pastry could have been thinner and maybe some chives in the pork filling - but we were very impressed with them as a first effort!
The weather is getting colder so we have started to winterise the garden - mainly covering up the banana plants - they are pretty big now so it gets to be a bigger operation every year! A quick wrestle with them and we had them under control!

Wikipedia says xiaolongbao originated in Shanghai.
We know it from the restaurant in The Gardens in KL.
We have also visited the original Din Tai Fung in Taiwan which was great, a bit like a pilgrimage.
The Din Tai Fung in KLCC does 'no pork' xiaolongbao, which we avoided.
Yum. Did they have the chocolate xiao long bao?
