Today we walked over to Crowthorne to go to the craft fair at Wellington college. Before covid we would never have thought of doing that - a 14km round trip - but now it seems like a sensible idea! On the way over we remarked that we hadn't seen much fungus this year. On the way back we looked more carefully and saw amazing fungus everywhere - just a few photos here of some of the more unusual ones. Unfortunately I can't name them - I think that fungus identification is a lifelong hobby that I probably don't want to get into, but I do like looking for them. We also spotted the halloween skull high up in a tree over on the golf course, very appropriate. It does show that, particularly in nature, you have to really look for things in order to see them - even though they are there right under your nose!
