I got up early today and took the train to Sutton to pick up the new car. I caught the 725 from Lewes to London which is obviously the commuter train - it wasnt bad and you can get direct into London in just over an hour - not a bad commute! The car is very sophisticated compared to our old car and I spent the day working out how things work! I think I got there by the end of the day!

We have too much furniture and are still getting rid of things so I now have a mantra - we will only buy only beautiful things for the house. So we bought this set of shelves - I absolutely love them and they fit just where the Eames chair was that we got rid of last week. I have always wanted to get out the china tea set that my dad had (and that had been boxed up under the bed for years). It is too delicate to put in the kitchen but fits perfectly on the new shelves. Beautiful!

Then in the evening back to Dunsfold for a newt survey. The weather was beautiful and we are hopeful of some newts in the farm pond - but lets see tomorrow!
