I did my Big Garden Birdwatch today. We had the usual suspects blue tits, collared dove, robin, house sparrow, pigeon. There were definitely less than last year - I think it is a combination of two things. This time last year we were in a pretty strict lockdown - not much noise, traffic or people. Also Waitrose cut down the very large ivy hedge next door in autumn, it hid a huge amount of wildlife and birds, it is all dead now with nowhere for the wildlife anymore. I am sad about that but it was a very large ivy hedge on a very old wall so I can also understand why it was done.

In the afternoon I went over to mums and we took the dog for a walk in the little wood next door to her house. I found this piece of wood - very strange and I cant work out how it got twisted like this - interesting though.
