Gloucester

There are a few things that we always meant to do while we were in Cirencester but hadnt got round to - so we decided to go to Gloucester today. I lived in Gloucester a very long time ago but havent been back for years and years! Of course the centre hasn't changed much - the old Debenhams building is still there (they are going to turn it into a bit of the Gloucestershire university campus which is a great use of the building). But what has happened is that the shiny new dicks area has sucked up all the shops, so he centre of town is very sad - mostly vape shops and the odd antique shop. We took a look around the Cathedral area which is great - very well looked after - apparently they spent the money from the Harry Potter filming on doing restorations! They have a knife statue there which was very impressive, also a knife and angel topper for the post box as well! Overall a a bit depressing but the cathedral is good!
