Getting on with the next assignment today so I spent hours in front of the screen. Its an interesting assignment - how to use the governments agri-environment schemes to create connecting habitat for a butterfly species. Using QGIS again but some different features! About 3pm I felt I had to get out of the house - so I took a walk over to Holt Copse. I haven't been for a while and there have been a few work parties that I haven't been able to take part in. I was really please to see the progress on the hedge next to the Reading Road. Last time I was there we took out all the rubbish but now it has turned into a really good hedge - amazing work from the volunteers. I also checked up on the oak tree that I helped to plant last year. I am always worried that vandals will break it as it is in a very obvious place - its still there and going strong! Going for a walk in the woods really helps to clear your head - we are very lucky to live so close to this lovely place. Now back to the assignment!
