How to get rid of bed bugs!

I woke up this morning and the bites are much worse. I won’t show you a picture but if you can imagine leg ulcers you are getting close! Also I can see that my leg is infected, red and swollen. So I do the right thing and contact the surgery. This means filling in a very long form and editing for the GP to get back to me. I have attached a photo so pretty sure she will just prescribe antibiotics!

Then we all set off for Fishers Farm to meet up with Tom and Freya. Fishers Farm is great, lots of farm animals plus fairground rides that are ok for James and Freya to go on. We have such a lovely time, it’s do good to see them all.

Meanwhile I message back and forth with the doctor and get the antibiotics sent to Worthing which is great!!

There are several ways to kill bed bugs, put clothes in a hot dryer for at least 30 minutes. Use a special spray on stuff that can’t be washed. Put things in a freezer for at least 4 days. The last one isn’t going to work so we go for the first two!!

We take all our clothes to the launderette and wash and dry them at the highest temperature.

When we get back the spray has turned up so we put out everything in the sun and spray like mad!! All seams, pockets, outsides and insides get a good blast! Then I still put everything back in the garage overnight. It’s all pretty traumatic and has really affected how I feel about the Camino

I learnt a lot about myself (more in another blog) and don’t regret going but I don’t think I will do another one. We are off to France with Tom and family in August, that’s much more my thing now!!
