Today we went on a long walk around Knepp and saw ALL the wildlife! Ponies, Tamworth piglets, English longhorns, fungi, butterflies, roe deer and many more. We saw the storks circling overhead - I counted about eight - what an amazing sight that was. We stopped at the Home - The Countryman Inn (countrymanshipley.co.uk) for lunch - highly recommended. Over lockdown they turned themselves into a little village store so we also bought all the shopping for our BBQ tonight.
In the morning before the walk we went over to the coffee stand - sitting having her coffe was Isabella Tree (for those that don't know she wrote the book Rewilding owns the estate with her husband). I didn't feel like I could interrupt her to get a photo so we just eavesdropped on her conversation. Afterwards I kicked myself - should have spoken to her! I once went to a hotel restaurant in Islamabad and Imran Khan came to the next table and sat down for dinner, I didn't interrupt him either and always regretted it!
