Last Day!!

Wednesday 14th February 2024

Its our last day here and we are going on a whale and dolphin cruise. Unfortunately Chris gets very travel sick so its always a bit worrying as to how its going to turn out! It started at 8am and we were back about 1230. The trip itself was great - calm seas, blue skys and beautiful views. We had been out for about 2 hours when we spotted a pod of common dolphins! They stayed with us for about 20 minutes - a pod of about 80 altogether including a baby - it was great! On the way back as we go closer to Auckland Chris spotted a pod of bottlenose dolphins (good spotting!) and we went over to see them for a bit as well. Overall a great experience - no whales but lots of dolphins!!

In the afternoon we had a wonder round Auckland to get a feel for it, then did some packing as we are off tomorrow! Some last photos of the three of us and the van - its been a wonderful trip - great to spend three weeks with Chris and so much time with Ella as well. We look forward to them coming back to the UK!!
