Back to the farm to set the pan traps for the last time. Today I also spent a lot of time identifying plant species and taking photos. I also collected a lot of examples and took them back to Cirencester and spent the afternoon on more identification. Here are photos of the four fields. Top left - arable which has now been ploughed. Top right - semiimproved grassland (has had some human modification in the past). Actually a lot of creeping buttercup and rye grass so not in great condition. Bottom left - 10 year arable reversion. Which seems in better condition than the semi improved. and lastly bottom right unimproved grassland - definitely more species rich than the others.

In the evening I went to a watercolour journalling course at the Brewery Arts centre. In this first class we made our journal - I am quite proud of mine! We also practiced with the paints and a colour wheel. A good start - we will actually paint next week!
