Thursday 9th June Day 19
Up early snd off before 6 again as this is a hard day. The first 16km is a straight path through arable fields, no shade, no stops. It wasn’t that bad as it was still early, at the end we found this cafe.

It was really nice and I swear the most popular cafe on the Camino so far, everyone literally fell in there!! We sat and recovered a bit with a lovely cake!

Then off again for the rest of the walk, 23km altogether and it felt hard on the feet. But eventually we got there.

Robin went to get a drink and I stood outside and chatted with Alan. A lovely Irish guy so we sat down and had a drink together. He had run pubs in the uk and Ireland but had got stuck in a drink and drugs situation. He found God and gave it all up, he is walking the Camino to work out what to do with his life now and how he can help people. He is probably going faster than us but would love to meet up with him again.

Then along came Melissa. she stopped for a drink before pushing on to the next stop.

Then came Sam and Geoff, Paul and Rose. They swapped outback and scary animal stories which we couldn’t compete with!! We had dinner with Paul and Rose and then hugged goodbye, they are off tomorrow. Sorry to see them go.
