Not a picture from my garden. Today I got up early, did 45 minutes exercise on the bike, spoke to my family at various times on the phone, tested myself on common and Latin names of species, worked on my assignment.
The next 12 days will probably be much the same so I need to branch out!
This is Alan! The white leucistic magpie from Cotswold Waterland. Leucism is different from albinism - only some of the feathers are white - in his case it is most of them. I have tried to get a photo of him - he is always there when I swim but very elusive - this picture is from the Cotswold Waterland Outdoor Pursuits facebook site. Which is where I also learnt that his name is Alan! I really enjoyed the outdoor swimming, its a bit scary - getting in I worry if I will fall as it is slimy - when I am swimming I worry that I might drown and noone would notice as it is so big - and it is cold! and getting colder. Looking forward to going back to it in a few weeks!
