We walked into Harrogate this morning and had tea and cakes at Betty tearoom. Very gentile but we were disappointed to learn that there was never a Betty! Then back in the car and off to Whitby. We are staying in an Airbnb for the next few days, proper beds!! Whitby is packed, it is a real tourist place which is a surprise given that it is mid week in June. I hate to think how busy it gets in summer holidays. we went straight to the lifeboat museum to find someone to talk to about our lifeboat model the Mary Ann Hepworth. They had one in the museum and you can see the difference between it and ours!! They are very interested in having it as a donation and the Harbour Foreman would restore it. This sounds fantastic but I will check with all the family before saying yes.
