Robin is going to the dentist in Wokingham early Monday morning so we are staying with Elliott tonight in Uxbridge(Charlotte is away on a hen do!). So this morning we were up early, packed the tent and off to Uxbridge. We dumped the car and headed for the Tube station - a day in London for the the first time in ages! It was lovely - we got off at Baker Street and walked through Marylebone, down to Covent Garden - looking in the shop windows all the way! We found the original Spaghetti House which I am sure I remember from when I was very young. When we got to Covent Garden we decided to go to Din Tai Fung - it was amazing! We had smashed cucumber and dumplings - of course and then tried their sweet dumplings with red bean paste and chocolate - even Robin loved them! We stopped in a few pubs on the way back. The old pubs in London are absolutely amazing, their architecture and interiors are great. What a shame that the bar staff were mostly surly and uninterested - see picture above. I can tell you how to they could get more business - it isnt rocket science! Back to stay with Elliott - he caught food poisoning last week so isn't very well - hope he feels better soon.
