Off into London this afternoon to meet up with Anne and Madi. I went in a bit early as we are meeting in Spitalfields and I thought that I would take a look around the shops and market. It was immediately apparent that there is a bin strike - rubbish piled up everywhere! and it smells as bad as it looks! The shops were OK but nothing that I wanted to buy sadly. I met Anne and Madi and we went to The Mayor Of Scaredy Cat Town - The Breakfast Club (thebreakfastclubcafes.com). This is a basement cocktail bar hidden behind the SMEG fridge door!! It was very exciting and the cocktails were really good as well. Then we went for dinner at Home – Spitalfields – Bubala. Its a vegetarian restaurant, basically the choice was vegetarian or vegan for the table and then they bring out a series of plates. It was delicious!! They did have a smashed cucumber - this is one of our favourite dishes at home and we use a recipe that Chris gave us - I do think that ours was better than theirs!! But overall a really good meal and lovely company!!
