I spent a few hours today looking at various different data sources that help us with understanding wildlife conservation. There is so much information out there but one of the best is Magic maps from Defra believe it or not. https://magic.defra.gov.uk/MagicMap.aspx
It overlays a huge number of data sources onto the OS maps - absolutely amazing - give it a go!
I also went swimming again today. I was so cold last week that I bought an open water wet suit and used it for the first time today. It was an amazing day - blue skies and no wind - and not that many people - maybe the cold put them off! The wetsuit definitely helps so my plan is to go once a week until the end of the term - I will report how that goes!
The wetsuit is specifically for open water swimming so it is mostly 4mm but 2mm around the arm and shoulder for swimming flexibility. It worked really well last week, I will report on how it does when it gets colder!
Not UK specific but I've always liked https://www.globalforestwatch.org/ You can overlay the map with so many different types of data!
How cold was the water? Did you get a 3mm suit or a 5mm suit? Love the photo by the way on how you captured the reflection of the clouds and choosing to place your horizon at the middle creating the mirror effect.
