Saturday 11th June Day 21

We set off early again and sunrise was amazing. Then it was another 27km over the Mesata. We tried to get some more interesting pictures but this is the best we could do. A calf!!

We stopped after about 8km for breakfast, lovely chocolate cake.

Then off again, I took the pack from there as we really need to get back to carrying both packs. We have names for people we regularly meet, last night we discovered that ‘old Korean lady’ is called Nan and she has walked for 2.5 months from Arles, she is stronger than all of us!! There are a couple of French guys we see every day ‘Little and Large’. This is our view of them everyday! I think we should ask their names!

The weather was much the same as usual then suddenly a massive storm. Thunder/lightening and lots of rain. We had about 4km to go which is always a slow time as your feet start to ache. Ponchos on and we found another gear!!

We were so pleased to see the Alburgue, a quick beer and a ham sandwich and we were all good. We sat next to Micha (or Mr blue leg as he was previously known). He didn’t like cheese so we ate his!!

Not much else to say about Mansilla. It was very hot by now, shops were closed as it was Saturday afternoon and there were no obvious places to eat.
