Nelson

Awake at 3am which isn’t bad. Breakfast was at 645, we were the first ones there!! We walked through Nelson to the cathedral, then back through a park for coffee. We saw these eels (called tuna here) in the pond. Pretty impressive, apparently they can live to 60. There were a couple of really nice bookshops so I bought a book on New Zealand birds and we spent the morning looking up everything we saw. Then Chris and Ella arrived!!! So so good to see them and they look so well. Chris picked up our van for us do we took a Quick Look then walked into town. We walked up to the Centre of New Zealand not too far but very steep!! Great views of the area here. Later we met up for dinner, great to catch up with them, so much has happened since they left!!! Off to bed about 10pm and we anre both exhausted!!
