Open Water Swimming

The university is very close to Cirencester Water Park – as it was a lovely day I took the opportunity to go to Waterland and see if I could go open water swimming. Ben sorted me out and showed me the open water buoys and where I needed to go. I was slightly concerned as most of the other swimmers had wet suits and looked like they knew what they were doing. But no problems – the water was lovely and I swam about 800M – round the furthest buoy. I decided that I could swim the 600M circuit - once I got to the farthest point I realised how far out I was and became concerned - what if something happened? Who would notice? I decided to stick to the shorter circuits in future!

Obviously I swim without my glasses so couldnt identify the birds hat were diving on the water – but I could see the swans and also a white magpie!

It was perfect though not sure how often I will be able to go before it gets too cold.
