Pitfall traps

It doesnt look that exciting but this is a pitfall trap. Our team built 5 of these today. You dig a hole in the ground the size of your container, put in some water and washing up liquid, cover it with something - leaving enough space for insects to get in. Unfortunately we were given very large glass jars and the Cotswold stony ground made it a hard task - but we got there in the end. We go back next week to survey what we caught - I will report back.
We also had a test on the 10 plants (common and Latin names) that we had to learn last week. I got them all correct - really think the AnkiApp helped so I will continue with that - it was 5 trees this week and onto some grasses next week!
I also had good meeting with the career leader here (her name is Ruth as well) - discussing how I can update my CV to be more relevant for the future - she gave me some good advise which I will work on over the next week - basically turning it into more of a skills based CV. I need to take the transferrable skills from the last 30 years (there are actually a lot) and turn it into a CV relevant for conservation work - wish me luck!
