I spent this morning in the woods with a great set of people practising for some children's activity days that we are running there next week. I had to make sure I could light the fire - which I did but I discovered that I cant use a lighter (no misspent youth for me!), I am bringing matches next week! We will be whittling, cooking and building dens with them. In the afternoon I went over to Combe Mill to meet up with some of the team from the ECP. We took a look round the woods there and found some amazing dens! I took some photos as an example for the children next week - something to aspire to!! We also found this bench which was really funny. It had three bits of animal information on it - squirrel, badger and pheasant - it shows their shape and foots prints. You can just make out the word squirrel on the bench - just underneath that a squirrel has obviously eaten their food and laid out the leftovers - and left it just there - nowhere else on the bench - he must be able to read!
