Proclamation

We went out to the Market Square to watch the King's proclamation with Dave and Lynne. Loads of people were there and at last the great and the good turned up - lead by the mayor. There were a lot of people wearing fancy costumes that must only come out on occasions like this - I do wonder where they keep them?

The actual proclamation was standard wording used throughout the country - very old fashioned words. It was all over in about 10 minutes then we sang God save the King - I couldnt do it - not sure why as I am not a particular Royal fan but it still felt too soon.

Then off to the Broad Street Tavern.
