Still in Cirencester today, working on my timed assignment - I cant go home until it is submitted - which has to be tomorrow!! I will miss it here - today I saw two young roe deer running through the garden and just now my first ever sighting of a bullfinch which was sat just under the hedge here. If I knew what I know now I wouldnt have planted the bamboos in our garden in Wokingham but would have put in a huge hedge instead. The wildlife in a hedge is incredible and wonderful to watch everyday!

I also finished this book today - I cant recommend it enough. It provides a great history of agriculture over the last 50 years and the personal reflections of a farmer as to the changes he has made, first in intensification and then realising the damage that was causing in pragmatically restoring some of the old ways. Well worth reading.
