Today we took the bus to Brading to visit the Roman villa there. Brading is a few miles from the sea and one question is why would they have built there. We found out that the Isle of Wight was actually three islands up until about the early 1600s. They built the villa there because at the time it had good access to the sea! There are some really good mosaics there and the guide was extremely helpful - well worth a visit. After that we walked back to Seaview by way of the coastal path again - lovely walk - but very hot!! We stopped in Seaview for a rest and a drink and discovered the Seaview Hotel - which we have walked past many times but never been into. Its a lovely hotel with good food and a great outside terrace - we wish we had found it before!
